Alternatively referred to as storage,
storage media, or storage medium, a storage device is a hardware device capable
of holding information. There are two storage devices used in computers; a
primary storage device such as computer RAM and a secondary storage device such
as a computer hard drive.
USB
Flash memory/USB Stick offers very fast access to data and programs. Currently the down side to using flash memory as the mains storage method is that it has a limited number of read and write cycles which limits its useful life span. USB is very easy to damage unlike many other storage devices it can be dropped in the water or you can lose it and it is not to hard to break it.
Floppy Disk
Can be found on most microcomputers and accept the usual 3.5 inch floppy discs. High density discs for a PC hold 1.44 MB of data enough to store about 350 pages of A4 text. A floppy disc needs to be formatted before it can be used but most discs are now sold already formatted for PC's.
